COWS and calves reached a top of $2250 at a very wet store sale at Carcoar today.
Agents said cattle numbers were down due to the continuing wet conditions, with 1475 head sold in 155 lots.
Ninety-two Angus cows with calves were sold, averaging $2153.
Steers were well represented, with 830 head sold for a top price of $1320 a head and averaging $948. Meanwhile, 512 heifers averaged $715, and reaching a top price of $1020.
Thirty-eight cows were sold, fetching a top price of $1395 and averaging $1283.
Bowyer and Livermore agent Todd Clements said the widespread rain across the region meant there were less cattle for sale, but prices were dearer across the board.
