DOES a french provincial home in the Central Tablelands tickle your fancy?
The Joyce family’s “Croftdown”, Bathurst, offers a beautiful four-bedroom french style country home with a separate three-bedroom cottage.
The light-filled homestead with timber floors and open fire places was built by Geoff and Rhoswyn Joyce in 2004.
“Our architect, Fred Miniter, came out to the property and studied the angles of sun and positioned it to capture exactly the right amount of rays in the winter and shade in the summer,” Mrs Joyce said.
The main house is where the cottage once stood.
“We shifted the cottage 200 metres away so we could take advantage of the established trees. The cottage has stunning outlook of the mountains and now has its own garden.”
The property is complete with an in-ground pool, tennis court and pergola barbecue area.
“The terrace, the paving and the open fire places all feature stone mined from Wee Jasper – it’s beautiful.”
The two homes sit on 93 hectares.
The Joyces run 10 alpacas around the house and agist some of their hillier country which can run up to 25 cows and calves.
Improvements include a stable, hayshed and cattle yards.
Stock and domestic water is secure with a large tank storage, reliable bore and access to a permanent creek.
The owners are selling to return to Sydney to spend more time with their grandchildren.
“Croftdown” is listed with Richardson and Wrench Bathurst agent Peter Ison.
