NutriSoil Liquid Biological Fertiliser is hosting its annual field day on Thursday, July 28 near Wodonga.
The field day will be interactive, focus on problem solving and empower farmers to either make changes or better understand how to measure and make observations in the field.
“It’s an opportunity to workshop a lot of issues that farmers are having, with scientific explanations,” NutriSoil’s Rachelle Armstrong said.
“The floor will be opened up to the audience after presentations for farmers to ask questions about issues on their farms, allowing them to get answers immediately and straight from experts’ mouths.”
Walter Jehne is a soil microbiologist and soil ecologist, former CSIRO scientist and co-founder of Healthy Soils Australia. In this capacity he has addressed UN Global Soils Week in Berlin, as well as informing Australian government and speaking to farmers about the whys and hows of common farming challenges and how to overcome them.
David Hardwick from Soil Land Food is an agro-ecologist and has over 20 years of experience in sustainable agriculture working in diverse roles including agronomy, soils, agribusiness, R & D, fertiliser manufacturing, rural training and extension and Landcare. David also teaches agriculture and organic agriculture at TAFE NSW. He will be making the complex interactions of nutrient cycling easy to understand and fun.
Andrew Freshwater, from ARJ Freshwater Agri Group, Kazakhstan Farming Company, Australian Natural Meats and Leachman Australia Pty Ltd will also share his story and vision at the day. All businesses link back the ARJ Freshwater, where he is a seventh generation farmer. Mr Freshwater has a remarkable story to tell of agricultural vision and sustainable farming across his many businesses throughout not just Australia but the world.
