Twelve agents sign up to SELX

Sally Butt from Butt Livestock & Property, Yass, is excited about the opportunities presented with the opening of the new sale complex.

“Local producers will now have the opportunity to sell their stock locally and with their preferred agent in an excellent facility that will attract more stock and more buyers for strong competition and prices,” Mrs Butt said. 

“We are looking forward to the opportunity to market our client’s livestock through the state of the art SELX, which exceeds the expectations of all stake holders in the livestock industry.”

Local businessman Col Medway, is one of six local investors backing this exciting enterprise.

“It is very exciting to see the project come to fruition and with our doors nearly open to sales, the wait is almost over,” Mr Medway said  

“I don’t even think we comprehend the enormous benefits this complex will have, not only on the town of Yass, but on the region’s farmers looking to cut costs on transporting their stock to sale.”

SELX is located at the intersection of seven highways and arterial roads, just off the Hume Highway in Yass NSW.

Construction of the $15 million, 16 hectare world-class, regional livestock selling centre commenced in September 2015, with the final touches currently being added before sales commence on Thursday, 18th August 2016.
