PETER Lette and family’s Conrayn Merino stud, Berridale, were ecstatic their August shorn superfine ram champion was awarded grand champion Merino ram and NSW supreme champion to represent the state at the 2016 Rabobank Australian Supreme Merino Ram competition.
Aaron Granger of Rogara Poll stud, Goulburn, holds his champion fine wool and grand champion Poll Merino ram of the 2016 Rabobank National Merino Sheep Show and Sale at Dubbo yesterday.
In the Poll Merino section Aaron Granger and his father, Ron celebrated when their finer wool Poll Merino August shorn ram took out the Poll grand championship at their debut at Dubbo.
Some 350 Merino rams and ewes competed in March shorn and August (full wool) shorn classes from superfine to strong wools on Tuesday and Wednesday with the ram sale offering 84 rams to be offered at auction starting at 11am today.
