ARGENTINE Merino breeders were in force today picking the eyes of the catalogue and paying prices including top money of $30,000 for Peak Hill bred Towalba stud’s champion strong wool and reserve grand champion Poll Merino ram of the 2016 Rabobank Merino National Show and Sale at Dubbo showground.
The sale averaged increased by $491 when 66 rams grossed $428,300 and averaged $6489.
Sale-topper from Towalba tsud operated by the Kopp family, went to the LeLeque stud, of Chubut Province, Argentina while another Poll Merino ram offered by Roseville Park stud, Dubbo, sold at $26,000 to another Argentinian stud, Rio Pico, also of Chubut province.
Six rams went to Argentina and Uruguay.
