CATTLE industry newcomer, Vince Simonetta, VMC Corp, will capitalise on the top genetics available at the annual Southern Limousin Production sale.
Mr Simonetta, of Catherine Field, near Camden, began breeding cattle just two years ago. Since 2014, has used the sale to access performing bulls and breeders for his properties, “Hartfield”, Sutton Forrest and “Castle Bend”, Berrima.
Currently in a transitioning period from Angus to Limousin breeders, Mr Simonetta runs 55 cows.
“It came down to which breed was easier to work with – this is the main reason we have chosen Limousin and being so new to the industry, this was a very important requirement,” Mr Simonetta said.
Already selecting lots from the 2016 sale, he believes the event is an important tool to continue producing the highest quality calves.
