In what has become typical to the way Dunoon does business cattleman got their hands on great genetics at incredible value.
Of the 145 bulls offered 140 were sold at the Harbison Family’s 31st Angus bull sale on Friday for an average price of $6079 and a modest top of $16,000.
Which results in a total of 282 bulls sold at auction by Dunoon in 2016 of 287 offered for an average price of $6397.
Gippsland cattleman Peter Boddy, R. Boddy and Son, Woodside, Victoria, purchased the top price bull, Dunoon Kart K846 for $16,000.
He also added Dunoon Kelvinator K748 for $15,000 with both bulls sired by Dunoon Earnest E477 from Tuwharetoa Regent D145 daughters.
Mr Boddy has been a client at Dunoon for 20 years.

“I like to buy bulls I like.
“I turn off my calves at seven to eight months at the calf sales, always to the same buyers, who grow them out as grass fed bullocks in south Gippsland.”

M.G. Pastoral, Werribee, Vic, led the volume buyers operating through H.F. Richardson, Geelong, they put gother 10 bulls to a top price of $11,000 while averaging $8900.
Fellow H.F. Richardson client Jack Smith, Werribee, Vic, followed in the same fashion finding nine for his draft to average $8000 paying to a top of $15,000.
Hanna Pastoral Company, Walwa, Vic, kept plenty of action below the border taking advantage of the sale value to average $3500 for eight bulls.
Cleveden Pastoral, Gundagai, led the New South Welshmen paying to a top of $10,000 for six bulls to average $7000.
“It’s great to see the continued strong support of repeat clients, and of course refreshing to welcome new buyers to Dunoon,” Jock Harbison said.
“I think the bulls represent good value for money.”
The sale was conducted on behalf of the Harbison family by Glasser's Total Sales Management with Michael Glasser ruling the rostrum.
