Combi Clamp Ltd is well known for its Combi Clamp Sheep Handlers and Auto Head Yoke cattle headbail, with the reputation for being safe, easy to use, and built to last.
The company had had a lot of enquiries from farmers who were not happy with what is currently available on the local market.
And seeing what Combi Clamp was supplying their customers in New Zealand, Combi Clamp was encouraged to bring its full Cattle Crushes over to Australia.
Designed for a one-person operation, with safety and ease of use in mind, the Combi Clamp range of cattle gear is built tough, and has many features that make it stand out in its field.
The Auto Head Yoke headbail catches the animals, and has a clever auto reset function between each animal. That means the animals do all the work, and they flow well through the crush.
“There are no hydraulics or air rams, just simple fail-safe mechanisms,” owner Lynley Coffey said.
“You don’t have to be anywhere near the crush for the animal to catch itself. It’s perfect for working on your own.
“The headbail has no size restriction, meaning you can work on big animals knowing they cannot burst through the bail.”
The standard crush is extra long so larger animals fit without having to be bailed.
The floor is made with sheeted Corten steel, which will never rust through, and the heavy duty cleated rubber floor means the animals have secure footing, reducing noise that could upset the following animals, she said.
All crushes are on heavy duty frames not seen in Australia before.
The rear hinged gates with greasable hinges have a solid sheeted lower half, and are cleverly designed for operation without moving from the rear of the crush. Both side gates and the sliding rear gate have sure-catch slam catches which work smoothly.
“These cattle crushes are certainly built to last a lifetime, and the hot dipped galvanised finish ensures years of trouble-free cattle handling,” Mrs Coffey said.
