IT’S official – again.
Jack’s Creek has been crowned the best steak producer in the world for the second year in a row.
The Breeza-based family run beef operation cleaned up at the World Steak Challenge overnight in London, beating 83 beef producers from 17 countries to take the top gong.
The winning steak came from a grain-fed Wagyu F2+ 75 per cent aged for 30 months.
The double win has been a huge thrill for Jack’s Creek managing director Patrick Warmoll.
“We spent considerable time selecting the entry and this win confirms that we’re the best in the world again,” he said.
“Winning last year was one of the biggest things to happen to us and our brand awareness rocketed and it’s been great for business. This is as much a win for Australia as it is for us.”
But Jack’s Creek won’t be stopping there.
“We will be going for the hat-trick next year!” he said.
Chair of judges and butcher Keith Boxley said the winning steak was ‘outstanding’.
“It scored highly on appearance, quality, taste and tenderness,” he said.
“People are getting more selective about the meat they eat and they want something more prepared. As a butcher judging this competition, I'm looking for something that looks and tastes nice that has no gristle.”
Jack’s Creeks’ 150+ days grain-fed 100pc Angus also won the silver award.
Jack’s Creek, which was launched in 2000 by brothers, Philip and David Warmoll, and is run with sons Patrick Warmoll, MD and Robert Warmoll, processes and markets grain-fed Wagyu and Angus, which is shipped to more than 20 destinations around the world including Japan, Saudi Arabia, China and the Germany.
