TATTYKEEL Poll Dorset stud has beaten its flock ram sale average by more than $450 at its annual sale today.
The Gilmore family, Black Springs, sold all 150 flock rams offered at its on-property sale for an average price of $1607.33, blowing last year’s average of $1153 out of the water.
Two top-priced rams were sold for $3000 to Peter Baillie, “Aramat Farm”, Mulwala, who was attending the popular sale for the first time.
He also bought another five rams, with an average price of $2214 for all seven rams.
There was heavy competition from return buyers, with a number of new clients also keen to access the even, solid line of rams.
The sale was conducted by Elders Bathurst with Andrew Wishart taking the bids.
