This year’s feature exhibitors at the Australian National Field Days, the Manildra Group and MSM Milling had a massive line-up come 11.30am each day.
Throughout the event each day Dexter Whibberley threw steaks and lamb chops on a barbie and they were offered up in sandwich form for a gold coin donation.
The crowds made their way through more than 400 hot drinks, hundreds of waffles, 230 kilograms of hot chips and the verdict is still out on just how many steak sandwiches were consumed.
But regardless of just how many kilograms of meat was consumed courtesy of the Manildra Meat Company, the most important figure is that more than $4000 was raised for charity, one being Ronald McDonald House in Orange.
Also, the supermarket-style displays packed with products the group of companies produces were all donated to Ronald McDonald House.
Mr Whibberly was humble about his cooking skills, “it’s really all about the meat,” he said on Saturday afternoon.
