MANILLA property “The Pines” is back on the market.
Five years ago Bob and Margaret Wynne of Condobolin purchased the 681 hectare property as an outstation for their cattle operation, but are selling to move closer to their family.
Mr Wynne described “The Pines” as having loads of potential with a substantial amount of arable country and is currently running 200 cattle.
Before the Wynnes took ownership, “The Pines”, priced at $1.85 million, had belonged the Nixon family for 140 years.
The Nixons took up the property in the 1870s when much of the settler impetus was coming from the longer-established Hunter Valley.
Average rainfall is 650 millimetres, and the property is well-watered by the semi-permanent Borah Creek, plus bores.
The Wynnes have a 75 megalitre fractured rock irrigation license.
Working structures include a four stand steel woolshed, steel machinery shed and workshop and new cattleyards.
The property is just 10 minutes from Manilla, with a bus stop at the door.
The solid 1937 two-storey homestead overlooks the Manilla River and has four bedrooms and maids quarters, two bathrooms, lounge, dining-room and sunroom, office, kitchen and breakfast room.
