AN UNUSUAL 12 hectare property that can provide a steady income from tourist activities is on the market at Rainbow Flat just north of Forster in the mid-north coast.
It’s known as the Big Buzz Fun Park and is set among coastal forests about 3.5 hours north of Sydney.
It is designed to keep holiday-makers and their children entertained. Sound like fun? It could be yours!
Its features include three waterslides, a toboggan run, peddlecarts, trampolines, swings, a swimming pool, a kiosk, shaded barbecue and picnic areas.
The fun doesn’t stop there. There are also facilities for other activities, including outdoor laser tag, quad bike rides, target golf, and peddle carts.
There is also a four bedroom home with an outdoor undercover barbecue area.
According to Luke Crane of Ray White Forster-Tuncurry, it's a perfect venue to be adapted for use for weddings and other functions.
The fun park was set up by about 32 years ago by a licensed builder and fun fanatic, Shane Clews, to capitalise on the growing number of tourists visiting the area.
It started initially with just a grass ski run, but has evolved into a popular year-round tourist destination.
"The location is absolutely beautiful,” Mr Crane said.
"You've got a wonderful peaceful feel and it's only minutes to the beach.
"The house is located at the rear of the property overlooking the dam and is very quiet".
According to Mr Clews the business generates enough income to comfortably support two families.
"During the Christmas holidays we average between 60 and 138 cars every day and their average spend is $150 per car,” he said.
Mr Clews said the favourite ride was the “one of a kind” toboggan run.
"The lift line takes people up the hill along with their toboggan. Coming down there is 418 metres of track and you can take a child on it with you".
The property is on the market for $2.4 million.
In the busy school holiday periods, the fun park employs 16 staff including a full time maintenance worker. It takes group bookings from schools and functions.
