A COOL change is on the way for the Sydney Royal – with frozen yoghurt to be judged for the first time in the show’s history.
Twenty judges will taste hundreds of cheese and dairy products early next week, including sorbets, gelatos, flavoured milk and a range of foods from non-bovine milk.
The Sydney Royal Cheese and Dairy Produce Show has been running in its current form since 1994.
The Royal Agricultural Society of NSW first opened the dairy produce section in 1905, although butter and cheese classes have been present since 1858.
Judging this year will take place over four days at the Southee Pavilion at Sydney Showground.
- Monday February 13: Cheese and non-bovine products.
- Tuesday February 14: Cheese (other forms), butter and dips.
- Wednesday February 15: Milk (white and flavoured), ice cream, gelato and yoghurt.
- Thursday February 16: Yoghurt, sorbet, cream, ice cream and gelato.
