MOREE farmers and keen football supporters picked up a golf club to get behind local rugby union club, the Moree Weebolla Bulls on Friday.
Everyone from community members to football players to the club’s sponsors were invited to play a round of golf at Moree’s golf course.
Despite the weather being over 40 degrees, over 60 people players turned up to raise money for the rugby union club.
Committee member, Sophie Evans, said the day was about having fun and raising money for a prominent club in the Moree community.
Miss Evans said the support from the community and sponsors was great to see and the day was very enjoyable.
“It’s great to have a community that supports the rugby club, because the rugby club supports the community,” she said.
During the evening, the Weebolla bulls jerseys were auctioned off, with all money going towards improving the rugby club.
The Moree Rugby Club will have its first crowd game on March 11, where the under 17s, under 19s, the Women seven team and the opens will be playing trial games.
All spectators are welcome with full bar and canteen facilities available.
