RECOVERY funds are available following last week’s bushifres for communities in local government areas of Kempsey, Mid Coast, Mid-Western Regional, Narrabri, Port Macquarie-Hastings, Upper Hunter, and Warrumbungle.
Primary producers can access freight subsidies and concessional loans, which are also available to small businesses and non-profit organisations.
Assistance is available to people with damaged homes or belongings, local councils to help with the cleanup costs. Grants are available to non profit organisations.
NSW Emergency Services Minister Troy Grant said the state and Commonwealth government were co-operating to distribute funds.
“(G)overnments are acting quickly to ensure affected people have access to much needed disaster assistance to support their recovery,” Mr Grant said.
Funding is disbursed through the Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements.
