The “Brave Danny” book launch in Albury on February 16 saw a flow of passionate readers flood the Albury Dymocks book store.
The event was hosted by Dymocks owner operator Jude Doughty and featured an official opening by National Rural Women’s Coalition (NRWC) president Alwyn Friedersdorff.
Ms Doughty did the honours of doing a reading of the book during the event.
“The book 'Brave Danny' provides a great educational tool for children aged 4-8 years of age and the author Robin Adolphs has done such a great job at tackling this very sensitive issue,” said Danny Hacket, White Ribbon Ambassador.
“When I first read the book, it made me feel very emotional but also hopeful about the message it sends.
“I felt as though the book had been written about me and my own struggles as a boy dealing with domestic violence in the home.
“I feel that the book raises awareness to the family violence issue and also provides hope to kids reading it, that there is help out there with the issues that they are dealing with at home and that they are not alone.”
There were a mixture of parents, teachers, childcare workers and other members of the public at the launch.
