When selecting genetics all producers want to find high quality genetics that perform under commercial conditions, what better place to find this than from a program that markets 2000 grass fed steers annually and selects for traits within the seedstock herd relevant to their commercial beef business.
Injemira Beef Genetics customers return year after year due to the customer service, back-up support, and integrity that the Greening family are renowned for and call the Injemira Advantage.
The ongoing performance of Injemira genetics drove yet another phenomenal sale for the Book Book breeders at their 46th annual ‘carcase revolution’ production sale.
Injemira offered and sold 95 bulls at auction for an average price of $9621 with a top-price of $40,000 reached twice.
Jarrah Cattle Company, Banana, secured the equal top-price and lead spring-drop sire Injemira Anzac L170 a son of the renowned sire Allendale Anzac E114 who has sold in excess of $800,000 worth of sons at injemira over the previous three years, and from Injemira’s best breeding dam Happy Day D053.
Jarrah principal Sam Becker who has been a strong competitor for the top-end Injemira sires over a number of years keeps coming back due to the predictability of the Injemira cattle in his herd.
“The predictability and performance of the Injemira cattle can not be surpassed,” Mr Becker said. “The Anzac bloodline is very suitable to Queensland conditions.”
Adding another Anzac E114 son to his sire battery alongside Anzac H006 whose sons have proved very popular Mr Becker is excited to add the maternal line of Happy Day D053 to his herd.
“L170 is the complete package, he has plenty of phenotype and performance data that backs that phenotype up, and will add muscle to our herd,” Mr Becker said.
Warragundi Beef Company, Carrabubula, and Curracabark Hereford stud, Gloucester, joined forces to purchase Injemira Wizard L027 an April son of Days Wizard F84 for equal top $40,000.
With plans to use heavily in his Warragundi stud herd Matt Kelley, was excited to secured the sire he described as “just magnificent, structurally beautiful and hard to fault.”
“We have had a few bulls picked out and after seeing L027 in November we were motivated to secure him,” he said. “He is the perfect sire to produce 400 day MSA cattle, he has great depth of muscle across the spine where all the primals are and great cover right across those primals.”
Anthony Lees, Tallara Holdings, Miga Lake, Victoria, parted with $26,000 for the right to take Injemira Anzac H006 L044 home, a son of Injemira Anzac H006 who is arguably breeding better than his sire Allendale Anzac E114.
The popularity of Injemira Anzac H006 sons continued with Cascade Poll Herefords, Carrabubula, paid $24,000 for Injemira Anzac H006 L055.
Victorian western districts producers E.A. Triffett and Sons, “Tara”, Hamilton, and Russlyn Poll Herefords, Englefield, both secured Injemira Anzac H006 sons for $22,000.
Leading the volume buyers was new client Wangaratta producers Burrayang Pastoral Company who secured eight bulls to go over their Angus based cow herd for an average price of $7375 reaching a top of $10,000 twice.
Long-term clients of in excess of 25 years Woakwine Station, Beachport, South Australia, averaged $7800 for five paying to a high of $10,000. B James Pastoral Co., “Rhyola”, Moulamein, secured five bulls under $8000 for a $7400 average.
Providing quality genetics at affordable prices is important to Injemira, and there was plenty of affordability with 37 bulls or 39pc of the offering selling between $4000 and $7000. Elders, Holbrook, and Landmark, Wangaratta conducted the sale with Paul Dooley, Tamworth, the guest auctioneer.
