More than 100 keen cyclists are counting down the days until the start of this year’s Ride for Country Kids, Royal Far West’s premier event.
The Ride starts in Wagga Wagga on Sunday 12 March 2017, and culminates with a fundraising dinner in Orange on Tuesday 14 March.
The purpose of the Ride is to raise funds to support a greater number of country kids with complex developmental and health needs. Royal Far West’s Paediatric Developmental Program and Telecare for Kids fill a critical gap for rural and remote families and communities that do not have access to the services they desperately need.
Ambassadors Tour de France commentator Mike Tomalaris and tennis legend Wally Masur are joining the teams of cyclists as they traverse the often gruelling 420km.
The Ride will cycle through Gundagai, Cootamundra, Young, Cowra, Canowindra and Cudal, and, where possible, the Riders would love to meet and greet local residents and thank them for their support.
On Sunday 12 March the Riders will cycle through Gundagai from approximately 10.30am to 12 noon (there are four groups of Riders), arriving in Cootamundra from approx. 1.30pm to 4pm.
On Monday 13 March the Riders will cycle through Young (stopping at Anderson Park for morning coffee) from 9.15 to 10.45am, and Greenethorpe from midday to 1.15pm. They will then make their way to Cowra, arriving around 2.30pm.
On Tuesday 14 March the Riders will cycle through Canowindra from 9am to 10am, and then arrive in Charles Sturt University at the Orange campus from 1pm to 2pm.
To help achieve the goal of supporting more country kids, please help Royal Far West. All funds raised through the Ride go to support country kids.
