A FLEECE off a Demondrille studs 2017 show team ewe which hadnt attracted any judges eye at shows, certainly gained lots of attention in the Sydney Royal Fleece judging taking out grand championship honours.
The 21 micron fleece had won the skirted housed medium wool class and with a total of 96 points, took out the grand championship for the Davis brothers Demondrille stud, Harden.
A skirted superfine ram housed fleece from the Rayner familys Grathlyn stud, Hargraves, was awarded reserve champion.
Most successful exhibitors were Ian and Lorraine Hills, Leawarra, Guyra, who were awarded 30 placings including the champion commercially grown Merino fleece.
The Watson familys Maisters Swamp, Kentucky, commercial and stud flock gained 17 unhoused and commercial ribbons plus three housed awards while Geoff and Robyn Rayners Pomanara flock, Sallys Flat took out the Brian Devereux trophy for best skirted superfine or finer fleece.
