Boldview Modem Pastel, a six year old Ayrshire cow impressed Canadian judge Michael McQuat with her youthfulness so much that he sashed her senior champion in the Sydney Royal Easter Show dairy ring.
Exuding balance and softness, the cow exhibited by Michael Eagles, Ghinni Creek Ayrshire stud, Moto, and led by Janiene Eagles, was commended for its snug udder and teat placement.
Producing 35 litres of milk per day, Boldview Modem Pastel is on track to produce 8500 litres in its current lactation and was also sashed best senior udder, proving the mature cows productivity.
Judge Campbell McQuat, Mapleburn Farm, Quebec, Canada, said the senior champion was put above the line-up of exhibits for its femininity and blending.
She just blends so well and she got the advantage over the reserve for her youthfulness, he said.
Although an older cow she still shows youth and her overall width through the udder and cage made her standout ahead of the rest.
