SWEET dreams are made of cheese and the Vietnamese are getting in on the action.
This week Australia’s Beston Foods secured a massive agreement with a popular Vietnamese retailer to supply flavoured cheese.
The cheese, labeled Kyubu, comes in a variety of sweet flavours including chocolate and almond, strawberry, orange yoghurt as well as nacho flavour.
The cheese comes in small cubes and is designed to introduce the Vietnamese to more traditional cheese products.
The product was developed by Beston specifically for the growing Asian market.
Kyubu will be stocked in 15 ‘MM’ mega stores throughout Vietnam –a rapidly growing market with more than 94 million people.
Beston’s chief executive Sean Ebert said MM is evaluating other products which he expects will lead to further orders.
The revenue and profit impact of the purchase orders will largely appear in Beston’s 2017/2018 books, given the timing of the orders.
