New structure on the Bruxner

The historic Tabulam bridge on the critical west-east Bruxner Highway will be replaced with a concrete and steel structure capable of carrying two lanes of B-double traffic. There is no funding to keep the historic structure.

It’s amongst the most historic of timber bridges, with the longest such span of this design in the Southern Hemisphere. But don’t expect it to be preserved for posterity.
