A strong confidence and optimism about the future of primary industry in Australia is reflected in the full house sign going up at Queensland’s premier primary industry field days, CRT FarmFest.
More than 2,000 companies will participate at CRT FarmFest 2017, confirming the Darling Downs based field days as the biggest, most successful annual agricultural event in Queensland.
And more than 60,000 visitors are expected at the giant event which plays a vital role in Australian agriculture, showcasing and demonstrating a vast range of new products and services, highlighting new technology and innovation and providing information to professionals on the land.
FarmFest organisers, Fairfax Rural Events, group manager Kate Nugent believes visitors to this year’s event will be pleasantly surprised by the improvements.
“The simple grid pattern of the purpose-built FarmFest site makes it one of the best in Australia for visitors and includes special areas for demonstrations which, this year, includes a new Drone Zone with additional activity planned, will be bigger than ever,” Ms Nugent said.
Traffic management updates will enhance the event’s car parking arrangements – with courtesy shuttle buses in the car parks to help visitors to the entrances, on to the static display grid.
Other equally important improvements include an expanded site area on the northern side of the display grid, as well as new sites along Livestock Way (near Demonstration Area 2), more seating, more shade, toilet facility upgrades and the best steak sandwiches.
This year sees many new agricultural companies participating along with the many significant larger machinery companies.
To make a visit to the event as enjoyable and convenient as possible, ticketing booths will be located in the major car parks, which allows visitors to avoid queues at the entry gates by pre-purchasing tickets with cafe carts located in the northern and southern car parks for the early arrivals.
CRT FarmFest runs from Tuesday, June 6 to Thursday, June 8, 2017, at Kingsthorpe, 20km west of Toowoomba off the Warrego Highway. Car park opens at 7.30am. Public entrance gates to the field days open at 9am. Open Tuesday and Wednesday from 9am to 5pm and from 9am to 4pm on Thursday.
