Families have invested in their child’s education at The Scots School Bathurst and Lithgow for more than 70 years.
Overlooking Mount Panorama, the school’s facilities include three boarding houses, a 25-metre indoor heated swimming pool, three ovals, the Lamrock Performing Arts Centre, a school farm, the Design and Technology Centre and the Tim Richards Pavilion. Horse agistment is also available for boarders.
Students experience a strong academic program while having opportunities to participate in a diverse range of co-curricular activities including sport, music, pipes and drums, cadets, equestrian team, chess, debating, drama productions, Rural Fire Service cadets and the Duke of Edinburgh awards.
The cattle team achieved outstanding results at the 2017 Sydney Royal Easter Show, including two gold medals, seven silver medals, two bronze medals and first place in two taste test classes.
In Section 18, a steer bred by Phil Kirk, of Wilworril Limousins, won First in Class, Champion School Carcase, Gold Medal, first in Taste Test and was second highest scoring carcase out of all carcases, being only half a point from Grand Carcase.
The school also won the ‘Group of School Carcases’ and came third in Breeders Group with three steers from Jorden Springs. A highly commended was awarded in the Herdsman Competition for best maintained team.
