Flood watches and warnings are active across many of NSW’s rivers, following big rainfalls across the weekend.
As much as 296 millimetres of rain has been recorded during the past 56 hours to 5am Monday over the Richmond and Wilsons river valleys.
Up to 165mm of rain has fallen in the past 48 hours to 7am today over the Brunswick River Valley.
This rain has caused minor flooding along the Wilsons River at Lismore. While Richmond River and Marshalls Creek are also predicted to flood.
Further rain is forecast for the next 24 to 48 hours, which could produce further river level rises.
Flood warnings have been issued for the Wilsons and Richmond rivers, as well as Marshalls Creek.
Wilsons River: Minor flooding is current along the Wilsons River at Lismore.
The Wilsons River at Lismore (AHD) peaked near 4.68 metres around 2:30am Monday and is currently at 4.62m and steady.
Richmond River: Minor flooding is predicted along the Richmond River at Coraki and Bungawalbyn.
The Richmond River at Coraki is likely to reach the minor flood level (3.4m) Monday evening.
The Richmond River at Bungawalbyn is expected to exceed the minor flood level (3m) Monday afternoon. The river level is likely to reach around 3.3m Tuesday morning with minor flooding.
Marshalls Creek: Marshalls Creek at Billinudgel peaked below the minor flood level (2.5m) on Sunday evening.
Flood watches are also in place for the following rivers:
1. Tweed - minor to moderate flooding
2. Coffs Coast - minor flooding
3. Orara - minor to moderate flooding
4. Bellinger and Kalang - minor to moderate flooding
5. Nambucca - minor to moderate flooding
