HOBBS Livestock’s David and Ashleigh Hobbs with Stuart and Kylie Hobbs and families, Molong, took out the grand championship male and female double at the Ausmectin Simmental National at Dubbo last week.
The bull, Hobbs Livestock Captain Morgan L8 (P), a black son of SVS Captain Morgan 11Z, weighed 908 kilograms at 21 months with an eye muscle area (EMA) of 132 square centimetres; while the female was Hobbs Livestock The Captains Girl L2, a 26 month-old daughter of the same sire.
Tom and Lizzy Baker, Woonallee Simmentals, Millicent, South Australia, exhibited both junior and reserve champion bulls, which stood first and second in the 14 to 16 months class, Woonallee Mafia M78 (P) and Woonallee Miller Chill M449 (P) by Woonallee Humdinger and LFE Beer Money respectively.
Shannon Lawlor, Ausbred stud, Kurmond, showed junior female, Ausbred Princess Bambi (P), by Mr NLC Upgrade.
Both female reserve junior and reserve senior champions came from Savannah stud of Vaughen and Sarah Campagnolo, Myponga, SA, with Savannah Eloise (P) winning the eight to 12 months class and Savannah Eloise L10 (P) winning 14-16 months. Savannah Eloise (P) is by Savannah Jon Bon Jovi while Eloise L10 (P) is by Erixon Pit Boss 21Z.
Reserve senior champion bull award went to Mt Ararat Lucky (AI), by Woonallee BHR Tornado, exhibited by John Leek, Mt Ararat stud, Nar Nar Goon, Victoria.
