LONGTIME dairy farmers David and Marsha Shibble are selling their 263 hectare Narromine property “Cooltah” which opens a rare opportunity for a willing farmer to nab a slice of Macquarie River frontage.
“Cooltah” comprises 93ha of rich river flat farming country with the balance being red loam grazing land.
Selling agent Mat Smith, Landmark Harcourts Dubbo, said the kilometre-long river frontage at “Cooltah” was its best feature.
“It’s a very picturesque place and we expect it will attract a significant amount of interest,” he said.
Mr Shibble said the accessibility of the river stood this farm apart from other lifestyle properties.
“Not many blocks are available on the Macquarie which are this size. It means you can have a really good go at farming.”
The Shibbles, who retired from dairy farming last year, are selling to relocate to the Hunter Valley.
They will carry over their cattle enterprise which includes a herd of young Brown Swiss as well as their newly established Braunvieh herd.
Not many blocks are available on the Macquarie which are this size.
Their plan is to market their dairy stock while they work on building their up their Braunvieh numbers.
“Cooltah” will be auctioned on August 30.
Approximately 52 megalitres of water will be included in the sale.
