Wirruna Poll Hereford’s spring bull and female sale was the Locke family’s 30th sale using the helmsman system and was undoubtably their best.
“We are delighted with what was certainly a successful day at the office for the Lock family” Ian Locke principal of Wirruna Poll Herefords stated.
Fifty-nine of the 61 bulls offered sold to a top price of $38500 for Wirruna Legs L108 a sire that was used over 35 Wirruna Heifers with an average of $7610 recorded on the bulls.
Fourteen of the 15 PTIC individual stud heifers sold to a top of $7500 for an average of $2911.
A further 18 PTIC heifers were offered in two lots selling for $1750/head and $1700/head respectively.
The top price bull L108 was highly sort after with two Tasmanian having a long battle over the right to own him with Guilford Poll Hereford, Ouse winning the battle.
The second top price of $15000 was also a bull used as a sire in the Wirruna herd Wirruna Launceston L396 selling to Yavenvale Herefords, Adelong.
The top price heifer was star lot Wirruna Madam L301 selling for $7500 to Ron Lewington, “Gindalea”, Uranquinty.
The sale was interfaced with AuctionsPlus with 13 successful buyers purchasing 19 lots.
