IRISH-bred Myboycharlie introduces a new branch of Danehill to the southern districts after being relocated to stand at John and Helen North’s Bowness Stud, near Young.
A champion juvenile and champion sire of two-year-olds, Myboycharlie is by former Western Australian shuttler Danetime a sire of 13 stakes winners including group 1 winner Myboycharlie.
Standing alongside Frankel’s Group winning three-year-old brother Bullet Train and prolific winner-getting sire Bon Hoffa, Myboycharlie has sired more than 457 winners including 15 stakes winners, his best the Australian-bred daughter Jameka. Jameka has won six races including group 1 races, among them the ATC BMW earlier this year, the Caulfield Cup-G1 last year, and the VRC Oaks the previous year, earning a total of $4.87 million.
Other Australian group winners by Myboycharlie include Peggy Jean, Charlie Boy, Blueberry Hill and Zelady’s Night Out.
For pedigree buffs, while Myboycharlie carries the great Danzig sireline, via his great son Danehill, and it should be noted that the sire also contains an Australian flavour on his damside through his stakes winning granddam Snowtop.
A daughter of influential Thatching, Snowtop is the dam of Australian imported mare Snowdrift, dam of group 1 winners Snowland; the AJC Surround Stakes-G2 winner Portillo, the dam of ATC Surround Stakes-G2 winner Ghisoni; and Sydney stakes winner Snippetson.
