BUYERS from the Central West and northern areas snapped up all 57 rams for a $1590 average at the 17th annual Dubbo Poll Dorset ram sale on September 5.
The Henry Family’s Kanoona Park stud, Curban,sold 20 rams to average $1890 and the Williams family’s Ashburnia stud, Four Mile Creek, sold 37 ram to average $1427 and buyers came from Dunedoo, Eugowra, Walgett, Wellington, Binnaway, Tullamore, Coonamble, Cumnock, Warren and Dubbo districts.
Top price of $5000 was for a Kanoona Park ram selling to Horne and Company’s Kim Rawlinson, “Old Castle”, Leadville, who bought five rams averaging $3075.
Ashburnia’ top at $2400 to Craft family “Warwick Farm”, Dubbo, who bought three rams averaging $2233.
The O’Brien Family Trust, Cryon Station, Come By Chance, purchased 14 rams for an average $1571 while Glen Leigh Pastoral Company, “The Cedars”, Eugowra, secured eight rams averaging $1425.
Tim Kemp, “Cutabaloo”, Binnaway, bought seven rams to average $1135.
The Henry family donated the $2400 proceeds of a Kanoona Park ram to the Sir Ivan Bushfire Appeal and this ram was purchased by Ken Williams of Ashburnia stud.
The sale was conducted by Peter Milling and Company, Dubbo, with Danny Tink the auctioneer.
