A former branch secretary of the Country Women's Association has failed to sue the organisation with a judge finding that she was "belligerent, rude and overbearing".
Marion Louise Collier attempted to sue the CWA for defamation over an email circulated by the chief executive to 545 members outlining the reasons for her expulsion.
The case traversed falsehoods about flower beds, malevolent minute-taking and the slatternly habits of the local bridge club.
Mrs Collier also sought an order that her removal from the position of secretary was unlawful.
But Justice Christine Adamson dismissed the claims in the NSW Supreme Court on Friday.
She found no basis to Mrs Collier's claim that her removal as secretary was unlawful and said the letter outlining the complaints against her would not have had any impact on the opinion of anybody who was acquainted with her.
Mrs Collier's response to conflict was "rude, unreasonable, disproportionate and provocative", Justice Adamson found.
"She displayed no compunction in belittling others.
"She was quick to leap to the conclusion that others had behaved improperly, even criminally, where there was no basis for any inference other than, in some cases, that people had been mistaken.
"She appeared to be fixated with the secretary's responsibility for preparing the minutes."
Minutes taken by Mrs Collier at CWA meetings indicated that the Wellington branch was not a happy one during her tenure as secretary, with arguments about cleaning contracts and whether a ministerial staffer had lied about the installation of flower beds.
She noted that on one occasion the president departed midway through proceedings.
"After the Secretary was left to run the meeting on her own for approximately 10 minutes, on the return of the President, without any explanation, she told the Secretary, that she was not doing her job and was not abiding by CWA rules," the minutes recorded.
On another occasion she noted under general business: "5: On arrival at the Hall yesterday afternoon, Marion observed the hall, left untidy and unclean by the bridge Group, she has asked them in the past to clean up after themselves and it is no good pushing a Hall agreement to be signed, as they are only paying $10 per hour…"
In February 2015, senior CWA officers asked Mrs Collier to stand down while they investigated complaints that she had included inappropriate comments in the minutes and talked over the top of other members in meetings.
Following the investigation, all members of the branch except Mrs Collier voted to spill the executive positions and she was not re-elected.
But the acrimony between Mrs Collier and other members continued and in April 2016 the CWA voted to expel her from its ranks, claiming that she had behaved disrespectfully and insulted other members, refused to comply with resolutions and resisted mediation.
Chief executive Danica Leys notified 545 members of its decision in a letter on April 13, 2016, outlining the substance of the complaint against Mrs Collier and the minutes of the executive meeting.
Mrs Collier commenced defamation proceedings the following week, and later asked the court for a declaration that the spilling of office bearers in 2015 was illegal.
Justice Adamson noted in her judgment that Mrs Collier's behaviour during the trial reflected the complaints made about her by other members.
Mrs Collier muttered that the CWA counsel Sue Chrysanthou was "dyslexic" for referring to a cleaner as "Steve" instead of "Stephen" and spoke over the top of other witnesses, counsel and the judge herself.
