At this year’s Goulburn Murray Branch Show and Challenge Branch Show and Challenge, competitors were challenged by mother nature.
Friday evening the club was set to commence its show with junior judging with all its competitors dressed ready when a slow moving storm decided to deliver rain and hail with a stunning rainbow in the mix right on time for the class.
Needless to say the club had to postpone this class until Saturday evening.
Saturday morning was an early start of 7.30am beginning with led classes.
These were kindly sponsored by Snowy Mountains Stockhorses and Corowa Chaff Mill.
LWS Performance Horses sponsored Supreme Led Exhibit, which was won by Nethaway Touch of Class and Jenny Weule.
As rain was looming again, classes pressed on with ASHLA and first went to Kate Schoen and Gordonvale Cassanova. Newcomer rider Combaning Downs Prada ridden by Rachel Schliebs was awarded first place.
As the youth ring commenced rain wasn’t far away.
It was great to see the youth classes well supported. Saturday evening congratulations went Susan Leahy riding Myee Celebration for supreme exhibit under saddle, kindly Sponsored by Horseland Albury.
Supreme youth under saddle went Lucas Walsh riding Werombi Pine Strkyer, kindly sponsored by Orlanga ASH and Angus Stud. Sunday the club had a beautiful day to start the futurity, maturity and challenges.
The winner of yearling futurity was Secretheart Roseanna and Troy Caldwell, two-year-old futurity Bushgrove Spring Flyte and Susan Leahy, three-year-old futurity winner Power Loaded and Georgia Hope.
Maturity winner Coolidowns Levi and Scott Jones-Ryan. Youth eight years under-13 winner Cedarvale Classic and Darcy Schliebs. Youth 13 years under-18 winner Werombi Pine Stryker ridden by Lucas Walsh.
The Nigel Sim Memorial Open Challenge was kindly sponsored by Blacklocks Isuzu Ute and Sevencreeks Stock Horses.
Overall Winner went to Sheady Ultimate Acres and Luke Carman .
Overall awards Hi Point Youth, Mister Bo Jangles and Emerson Kurtzer, Hi Point Maiden Horse, Yinbarum Louis and Craig Hancock, Hi Point Novice and Hi Point Branch Horse, Tocal Notes and Lyrics and Robert Pritchard, Hi Point Branch Youth Davros Dynamic and Ryan Carman.
