Two Kempsey stock and station agents will auction off two charity bullocks to raise money for cancer research.

Darren and Bec Sutherland of Belmore have donated a charity steer to be auctioned at Ray White Kempsey’s grown steer and yearling sale on January 11.

In three years, the Sutherlands have donated three steers that have been auctioned for charity in which have raised nearly $10,000 in honour of Darren’s mother Cheryl Sutherland who passed away.

All proceeds from the sale will be donated to the Cancer Council of Australia to fund research to find a cure for the insidiious disease.

“Cancer affects so many people and this was one way in which we could help to not only raise awareness but also raise funds for cancer research,” Mrs Sutherland said.
