AUSTRALIA’S hottest stallion, I Am Invincible provided a highlight during the second day of selling at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale with a colt fetching $2 million.
The colt – which was a record price for the breed, was sold via the bay/brown stallion’s home base of Yarraman Park, Scone. The colt – produced from the stakes winning Magic Albert mare Tai Tai Tess, was sold to NSW graziers Paul Frampton and Reg Inglis of Merriwa, together with American based partner Jon Kelly.
Mr Kelly said (on behalf of the owners) that he was thrilled to secure to colt.
“You could not fault him,” said Mr Kelly.
While Yarraman Park had a high expectation of the colt selling for a high price, Arthur Mitchell said they (Yarraman connections) “were over the moon” with the result.
“It’s great for the sire, as well as the staff who have worked really hard, so I’m rapt for them.”
Fireworks also exploded toward the end of the day’s session when John and Trish Muir’s Milburn Creek Thoroughbreds – a property based in the Southern Highlands, sold their home bred brother to Group 1 winner and now young sire Sizzling, for $1.6m.
The colt by champion Australian sire Snitzel was purchased by Yuesheng Zhang of Yulong Investments in conjunction with Phoenix Park, Aquis Farm, and Caulfield trainer Ciaron Maher Bloodstock.
