The future is here.
This is set to be the reaction for Sydney Royal Easter Show’s new exhibition 'Farm of the Future'.
With the Australian farming industry looking more into automated technologies, exhibition spokesman Shane McGrath said agriculture was set to become Australia’s next $100 billion enterprise.
The exhibition will explore how rapid technological advances are radically reshaping agriculture from automated robots able to weed vegetable crops to health monitoring sheep with Fit bits, virtual fencing and the use of drone.
During the showcase, universities and agricultural businesses will display innovation and technology that is occurring on Australian farms including the University of New England’s Smart Farm that will deliver its research agenda and viable solutions to improve efficiencies on farms.
Sydney University Centre 'Field for Robotics' will also be on display showing the types of robots that perform specific farm tasks including spraying and watering.
