Tattykeel stud, Oberon, dominated the Poll Dorset ram judging at the Sydney Royal Show today.
The grand champion ram was the senior champion from the ram, showing milk teeth only, shorn class.
The reserve grand came from the junior pair of rams class, showing milk teeth only, born after August 1.
The grand champions dam, 273/15, was the first overall supreme exhibit of the Royal and its father, Jackpot, was the supreme exhibit at the NSW State Sheep Show at Dubbo.
Its an embryo transfer lamb that James Gilmore, Tattykeel stud, said was as stronger sheep as weve exhibited down here for his time.
He scanned 56 eye muscle depth and 103 width and 130 kilograms at 11.5 months and thats a very fast growing lamb, Mr Gilmore said.
The ram is now headed for the State Sheep Show at Dubbo and will go into a semen collection project and be used heavily in the studs embryo transfer program in November.
Judge James Corcoran Junior said he was incredibly happy with the line-up.
They are an outstanding example of the Poll Dorset breed, Mr Corcoran said.
He said the grand champion stood out.
If somebody can find a fault in this ram let me know because I can not find it.
Hes in ideal condition and is an absolute credit to the breeder.
The reserve senior champion ram and junior champion ram were also both Tattykeel sheep.
The reserve senior was from the ram, showing milk teeth only, shorn, class while the junior champion ram was from the ram, showing milk teeth only, born after August 1, shorn class.
