It’a not a common sight on a cricket ground, but not the first, when players dived for cover because of a swarm of bees.
There’s been similar sights in other countries and regions but perhaps NSW put on a first for Australia when bees interrupted a Blues match at North Sydney Oval on Sunday.
Players went to ground as the swarm moved over North Sydney Oval, the bee swarm later collecting on the paling fence.
Meanwhile, Sean Abbott’s career best figures in domestic one-day cricket (5-70) and spirited half centuries from Moises Henriques (77) and Daniel Sams (56) were not enough for NSW as they lost to Victoria by 66 runs in the JLT One-Day Cup.
Cameron White’s century (123) proved to be the difference between the two teams, a Cricket NSW report said.
Maybe the Blues batsmen were a bit stung by the pitch invaders ?
