THE 2019 Ausmectin Southern Beef Week headed to the Southern Tablelands and Southern Highlands during day six.
It was the largest day of the week with ten studs opening their gates to a number of weekend visitors coming to inspect sale bulls and heifers.
Studs on display in the Southern Tablelands were Bannaby Angus and Wirrabilla Fleckvieh and Angus at Taralga, GNA Black Simmentals at Fullerton, Greenleaf Angus at Crookwell, JTR Cattle Company Poll Hereford and Angus, Myanga Angus, Chatsbury and Wynella Poll Herefords and Angus at Roslyn.

Bannaby Angus
Bannaby Angus displayed their sale bulls as well as a selection of stud and commercial heifers on day six of Southern Beef Week.
Stud principal Keith Kerridge said they had around 15 to 20 people through the gates during the morning and was looking forward to more throughout the afternoon.
Mr Kerridge said they have spent the past decade not only adding females from various dispersal sales but also aggressively culling the herd on an ongoing basis to improve the functionality of their cattle.
Kim Sultana, ABS Australia's Key Account Manager has been travelling around Ausmectin Southern Beef Week since day four and during her visit to Bannaby Angus said, it is very refreshing seeing cattle in such great condition during these trying times.
"It is a credit to all the breeders," Ms Sultana said.
Bannaby Angus will hold their ninth annual on-property sale Saturday 24th August where 50, 16 to 24-month-old bulls will be on offer.
Myanga Angus
Myanga Angus displayed the 37 bulls that will be on offer at the stud's August 10 sale for day 6 of Southern Beef Week.
Stud principal, Stephen Dunne said they had around 40 people through the gates, mostly locals and existing clients that had come for a look at their 2019 bull draft.
Mr Dunne said they would offer close to ten sons from one of their most impressive sires, Musgrave Mediator, at next week's sale.
"He's bred tremendously well for us and we're really excited by those sons," Mr Dunne said.
Mr Dunne said the bulls have been grain finished and have had a strong average weight gain/day, around +1.5 kilograms, since birth.
Wirrabilla Fleckvieh and Angus
Wirrabilla displayed their 12 Fleckvieh heifers that will be offered at the Focus on Fleckvieh Auctions Plus sale on September 6, as well as six of their Angus bulls.
Wirrabilla have been breeding Fleckvieh since 1995, manager Guy Martin said they cross the dual purpose breed with Angus to get hybrid vigor.
"It's the easiest way to get performance in the cattle," Mr Martin said.
He said they had a constant stream of visitors throughout the day which resulted several possible sales of both cattle and semen.
GNA Black Simmentals
GNA Black Simmentals opened for the first time during Ausmectin Southern Beef where they had on offer both 12-month-old and two-year-old bulls for sale.
In 2014 Graham and Adele purchased a small herd of stud cattle from Bungendore Black Simmental Conortium where they have built up their bloodlines using Consortium bulls.
Graham Dupond said our bulls are bred to provide very good calving ease combined with fast growth, softness and docility.
Greenleaf Angus
Greenleaf Angus principal, Andrew Harborne said they have been breeding Angus cattle for over 15 years and moved to Crookwell five years ago where they continue to breed Angus.
"Our cattle are selected for temperament, fertility, calving ease, structural soundness, performance, muscle and market suitability," Mr Harborne said.
"We find local and repeat clients are mostly impressed with calving ease and growth."
Mr Harborne said they focus on commercial attributes with the bulls remaining quiet and producing excellent temperate in their progeny.
JTR Cattle Company Poll Hereford and Angus
JTR Cattle Company had a selection of Poll Hereford and Angus Bulls on display and for private sale during Ausmectin Southern Beef Week.
JTR Cattle Company focus on breeding quality, structurally sound, fertile, easy-doing Poll Hereford and Angus cattle that will suit both the commercial and stud producers.

The Pines Pastoral Angus
The Pines Pastoral Angus are one of Southern Beef Week's longest participants.
Co-principal Robyn Dove said this year they saw more new buyers than usual as well as a few repeat clients.
"We saw a lot of small producers looking for more information and that's what we specialise in," Ms Dove said.
The Pines Pastoral Angus offered 15 grass-fed, Angus bulls and sold three prior to the Open Day.
Co-principal Ingrid Orfali said Pines Pastoral had bred with a mix of American and Australian genetics for 20 years and this year's AI bulls are mostly by US sires, Compliment and Quaker Hill Rampage.
Pemberton Speckle Park
In their first year, Pemberton Speckle Park had close to 15 bulls and 10 heifers for sale.
Stud principal, fifteen-year-old, Tahleah Bell said they breed with a mix of Canadian genetics and some of their own bloodlines.
Ms Bell said visitors to Pemberton's Open Day were coming to see what the new stud had to offer.
Her father, Tim Bell was previously a joint owner of Six Star Speckle Park which showed in both Australia and Canada.
KO Angus
KO Angus stud manager, Tim Lord said they had visitors from New England to the Riverina come and look at the 50 bulls and 20 heifers they on display ahead of their August 23 sale.
Mr Lord said Lot 3, KO 2240 Next Step, was one of their stand out bulls for the 2019 sale, weighing 1105kg at 24-months old.
"He's one of the highest indexing bulls in the breed, he's currently in the Agri-Gene semen catalogue and we're selling 100 per cent possession and 50pc semen and marketing rights," Mr Lord said.
Mr Lord said they also had heifers on display this year to encompass a larger client base.
"With the drought we thought we would offer a few females and embryos for guys that are trying to rebuild hopefully when the season breaks," Mr Lord said.
