It was a million dollar gross when Bega Associated agents yarded 1050 head for the store sale.
Stewart Smith, Chester and Smith, Bega reported an offering of good quality store cattle which sold to a very strong market.
"It was great news for the local beef producers after surviving dry weather and fires during the summer," Mr Smith said.
Weaner steers sold from $900 to $1270 with Evan Alexander, Bemboka selling eight month Angus to $1150, while Wayne Boller, Towamba sold ten month Angus to $1205 and Ross Moffitt, Candelo sold ten month Angus cross for $1195 and ten month Simmental cross for $1200.
Yearling steers sold to $1290 with Tim Collins, Candelo receiving $1240 for his pen of Angus: while 15 month old steers made $1475 and 18 month old steers sold to $1580.
Weaner heifers sold from $800 to $1100; while yearling heifers sold to $1200 when Tim Collins, Candelo penned his Angus, NSM.
Joined heifers made $1600, and cows with calves sold to $1840.
Buyers from Leongatha, Warrigal and Sale, Victoria competed with restockers from Queanbeyan, Moss Vale, Bathurst amid strong local competition.
