There was a large yarding of 3314 good quality, mostly black store and weaner cattle at Yass on Friday, weaner steers consistently selling for more than 500 cents per kilogram.
The few cows and calves on offer sold to $2280, while cows made from $1100 to $1660.
The 2126 steers for sale averaged $1169, topping at $1650.
The SELX market report said weaner steers under 200kg sold over 500c/kg and ranged from $710 to $1150 per head.
Medium weight steers made from $850 to $1330 averaging from 450c to 480c/kg after reaching 550c/kg and heavy weights sold from $1360 to $1650.
The champion presented pen of steers went to Pine Ridge Pastoral Co, Woodhouselee, who sold 22 Angus steers weighing 369kg for $1600 per head.
R and N Royds, Braidwood offered 28 Angus Steers weighing 330kg which sold for for $1505.
S and M Clancy, Gunning sold 20 Angus Steers weighing 329kg for $1450.
C and M Tetley, Braidwood had 27 Angus Steers weighing 290kg make $1390. The same vendor sold 19 Angus heifers weighing 280kg for $1230.
Overall, the 1137 heifers made an average of $964 and topped at $1380.
Light weaner heifers made from $510 to $970 and most averaged from 400c to 440c/kg.
Medium weights sold from $750 to $1225 and heavy weaner heifers reached $1380.
The champion presented pen of heifers was awarded to B and M Price, Pejar, who sold 11 Angus Heifers weighing 344kg for $1360.
