NEW versions of the Livestock Production Assurance National Vendor Declaration for all species have been released, identified by number 0720.
The LPA NVD communicates the food safety and treatment status of animals at each stage of the value chain: properties, saleyards, and processors.
Previous versions of LPA NVDs used for cattle, EU cattle, sheep and lambs, goats, and bobby calves, will continue to be accepted until December 31.
From January 1 only the updated versions of LPA NVDs (0720) will be accepted.
Instructions on how to complete the new LPA NVDs are available on the Integrity Systems Company website.
The development of updated versions of LPA NVDs for all species followed a review of all NVD versions by SAFEMEAT in 2019, which recommended a number of changes be made.
Integrity Systems Company chief executive officer Jane Weatherley said LPA NVDs were a legal document that were key to Australian red meat's traceability and market access.
"LPA accredited producers, feedlots and value chain stakeholders don't have to wait for new hard-copy NVD books to arrive in order to access the new versions," Dr Weatherley said.
"All updated versions are instantly available online through the electronic NVD (eNVD) system.
"The eNVD is easy to navigate, removes duplication, and can be completed on a mobile device or desktop computer.
"Adopting the eNVD is simpler and more accurate for the whole supply chain. All consignments are in the one place and instantly available online, enabling stakeholders to log in and view eNVDs, including receivers of a consignment or animal."
To access the eNVD or order new NVD books, log-in to the LPA service centre using LPA login details.
As part of the MLA Accelerated Adoption Initiative there is no cost for NVD books until June 30.
