The season changed the fate of the Calga Dohne sale at Coonamble last Wednesday with all 73 rams selling for a 100 per cent clearance.
With 21 registered bidders in attendance from throughout New South Wales the spirited bidding pushed two rams to $4000, the two rams were both by CA174015 and shared a sale pen.
The first ram to hit $4000 was purchased on behalf of a commercial Yeoval producer, the 2019 twin drop ram was in the top ten per cent for weaning weight, post weaning weight, Dohne Plus and Dohne base indexes, weighing in at an impressive 112.5 kilograms the heaviest of the draft.
The dual top price ram is part of a 29 draft of rams purchased for an average of $2555.
The second ram to hit the $4000 top price was purchased by repeat purchaser Anthony Skinner who will be moving the ram to his Molong property Kalnee. The 2019 single drop ram was in the top ten per cent for weaning weight, post weaning weight, Dohne Plus, number of lambs weaned and Dohne base indexes.
Mr Skinners Dohne flock is based entirely on Calga blood he purchased eight rams in total for an average of $2763.
The sale was conducted by GTSM with James Brown as auctioneer.
