Interstate buyers competed with new restockers from NSW while the regular buyers also turned up at the 8th Yass and district annual crossbred lamb circuit sale on Friday.
Conducted by Butt Livestock and Property, Yass 11,000 lambs in excellent condition were on offer for selection by discerning buyers.
It was not surprising the lambs were in very sappy condition, the season in the Yass district is phenomenal with pasture still green and as high as the fence on many properties.
Top price for the day was $213 paid for 459 July/August drop Glenfinnan PLG-blood White Suffolk cross Merino ewe lambs sold on account Woolaroo which is part of Cavan Station, Yass.
Vendor sales in sequence started with Charlie Buckmaster, Roseville, The Mullion who sold 362 July-drop Rowallan-blood Poll Dorset lambs weighing 41.7kg for $166 while his second line of 130 weighing 33.7kg sold for $152.
Steve and Amanda Faulder, The Ranch, The Mullion sold 189 Septemebr-drop Glenfinnan-blood White Suffolk mixed-sex lambs weighing 32.2kg for $157 while their second pen of 149 weighing 24.3kg sold for $136.
Chris and Tracey Longley, Glen Maree, Yass sold 199 August/September drop Rowallan and Kingston Park-blood Poll Dorset cross lambs weighing 39.5kg for $166, while a second pen of 484 weighing 33kg sold for $160.50 and their third pen of 264 weighing 29kg sold for $149.
Matt Crozier, manager Cavan Station, Yass sold 1103 July/August drop Rowallan-blood Poll Dorset cross lambs weighing 40kg for $160: his second run of 936 weighing 34kg sold for $156 and the third pen of 342 weighing 28.5kg sold for $142.
At Woolaroo, part of Cavan Station and also managed by Mr Crozier, 459 Glenfinnan-blood White Suffolk cross July/August drop ewes weighing 46.3kg for $213: a second pen of 167 weighing 36.5kg sold for $186 and 193 wether lambs weighing 41.2kg sold for $163.
A further pen of 350 mixed-sex White Suffolk cross lambs weighing 40.2kg sold for $173.
Tim Kensit, Bimbadeen, Rugby sold 284 Pinewalla-blood Poll Dorset cross lambs July/August drop weighing 43kg for $171.50: his second pen of 324 weighing 37.5kg sold for $159 and the third pen of 252 weighing 32.6kg sold for $157.

David Hazell, Kia-Ora, Bookham sold 277 Montalta-blood Poll Dorset cross July/August drop lambs weighing 40kg for $172: the second pen of 143 weighing 33kg sold for $155 and the third run of 43 weighing 28kg sold for $140.
Buyers attended from Forbes, Goulburn, Jugiong, Gunning, Albury, Wagga Wagga and Griffith while Victorian buyers from Corowa and Yarrawonga were successful.
