The EYCI has had a sky high run since the beginning of this year maintaining a price well about 400c/kg during this period.
Markets on Wednesday were as much as 20c/kg dearer once again, spurred on by competition from both restockers and lot feeders.
The indicator now stands 104c/kg higher than this time last year and 33.5c/kg more than this time last month.
All other cattle indicators improved yesterday as well according to Meat and Livestock Australia.
Trade steers improved 1c/kg, to 244c/kg (liveweight). Feeder steers continued their unprecedented run, gaining about 2c/kg, to 258c/kg, and heavy steers improved 3c/kg, to 245c/kg. Medium cows increased 1c/kg, to 188¢/kg.
Yearling steers remain the biggest contributor to the EYCI with average prices sitting well above heifer prices.
