WESTRAY Merino and Poll Merino rams increased in value by $323 a head for 85 rams to average $2471 at the 39th annual on-property sale at Peak Hill on Thursday, September 24.
Fifty-three Merino rams topped at $15,000 while 32 Polls made to $7000 and Prime Samm rams to $1200 twice to buyers from Western Australia, Victoria and widespread areas of NSW.
Long-standing clients, The Swain family of Budda-View Partnership, Peak Hill, paid top Merino $15,000 price among eight rams purchased for an average $6088.
Buyers of second top-priced ram at $12,000 were cousins Adrian O’Keeffe, Bungoona Merino stud, Molong, and Terry O’Keeffe, “Sandy Creek”, Molong.
Terry O’Keeffe also purchased another two rams.
While securing six rams for an average $3233 returning clients of three generations Matt, John and Margaret Phillipson, of Ballot Box Partnership, Yeoval, paid $7000 for the top-priced Poll Merino ram.
Seventeen Prime Samm rams topped at $1200 twice and averaged $1022 with the Kerin family’s Makag Family Trust, “Netherwood Park”, Yeoval, returning to secure six rams.
