IMPRESSIVE results were achieved at the Gilmore family's second annual Tattykeel Australian White stud sale at Black Springs via Oberon where stud rams reached a top of $27,000 while ewes sold to $14,000.
That was a new top for an Australian White ram, and those results were up on last year’s Tattykeel inaugural Australian White stud sale where stud rams had reached $16,000 and ewes $4500.
At Friday's sale Tony Rutter, Brookland Lamb, Tarcutta, was the successful purchaser of not only the $27,000 ram, but he also purchased the top two ewes at $14,000 and $11,000.
The second-highest ram was purchased for $22,000 by Nip and Di Rowney, Gamadale Australian Whites, Lascelles, Victoria.
In the sale breakdown, all of the 20 stud rams offered sold to an average of $8250, while 52 of the 60 ewes sold to an average of $2899.
Flock rams were also offered to the large crowd - many of whom were repeat buyers - and they sold to a top of $4250.
