A trio of Channel 7’s top journalists will be heading to Hawkesbury on Thursday, March 31, for the final Provincial Championships qualifying event.
Hawkesbury Race Club will host the last Provincial qualifier for horses to book their tickets for the $400,000 Provincial Championships final (1400m) at Royal Randwick on Saturday, April 9.
“The racing in both the Provincial and Country Championships events this year has been excellent with strong crowds and solid turnover throughout the state,” said Racing NSW’s Chief Executive, Mr Peter V’landys AM.
Racegoers will be able to enjoy the company of special guests PJ Madam, Rhani Sadler and Melissa Doyle – all on Channel 7’s high-rating TV show, Sunday Night.
Outgoing Hawkesbury CEO Brian Fletcher was looking forward to what will be his final Provincial Championships race day.
“This will be the final chance for provincial horses to grab their ticket into the rich final at Royal Randwick,” he said.
Hawkesbury has plenty of entertainment planned for the day and there is also the chance to win a full day’s sailing on Sydney Harbour aboard a luxury catamaran for 12 guests (valued at around $8000).
Hawkesbury’s race day carries more than $250,000 prize money with the qualifier to be staged at approximately 4:50pm.
