POLICE believe a man who was found dead on a remote property in the Upper Hunter on Sunday morning may have died in a quad bike crash.
Emergency services located the man’s body at Blandford, near Murrurundi, about 8.30am after a coordinated air and ground search.
The 60-year-old had left his home about 6pm on Saturday to work on his property but had not returned home by 8.30pm.
Family members searched for the man without success before contacting emergency services.
Police coordinated an extensive search of the property with help from the Westpac rescue helicopter.
The man’s body was located on the property about 8.30am on Sunday.
Initial investigations suggest the man died as a result of a quad bike crash and his death is not being treated as suspicious, police said.
Hunter Valley police will prepare a brief for the coroner.
The death comes after two separate quad bike fatalities near Bathurst and Narrabri last week.
